Comparing to my undergraduate research lab where we did specific study for a certain mechanism, Dr. Li's lab employs high throughput data analysis method to address critical biological/clinical problems. I think in this world right now, utilizing big data and using a high throughput way to analyze the problem would provide us with more thorough information regarding one problem. Also, the lab environment is very neighborly, and Dr. Li is a really approachable and supportive PI.
